About Me
I am an Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, funded by Schmidt Sciences.
Previously, I held a postdoctoral appointment as a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Michigan. I received my Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from Yeshiva University in New York, where my doctoral research was supported in part by grants from the U.S. National Science Foundation.
Research
My research develops topological methods for the analysis of complex time series and geometric methods for the study of nonlinear dynamical systems. My work spans two areas of applied mathematics: topological data analysis (TDA) and Hamiltonian dynamics. In TDA, I develop methods for extracting and statistically validating geometric structure in time series, with applications to financial markets and neuroscience. In Hamiltonian dynamics, I study geometric mechanisms of instability in nearly integrable Hamiltonian systems, including systems subject to small dissipation, with a particular emphasis on Arnold diffusion.
